ISR with Margie

Keep Your Family Safe

I am excited to introduce myself and share my passion for water safety with you. Originally from Kentucky, I moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland in 2013 due to my husband's military career. Growing up, I was a non-swimmer, and a near-drowning experience at age seven left me with a significant fear of water. Despite this, I confronted my fear when I received my commission in the United States Army in 2005. This experience reinforced my belief that swimming is an essential life skill, making it a top priority for my own children.

All four of my children are Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) graduates, and I personally trained the youngest two. It's truly rewarding to see their confidence and enjoyment in the water, a stark contrast to my own childhood experiences.

With over ten years of experience teaching pre-kindergarten through second grade in public and independent schools across Kentucky, Virginia, and Washington D.C., I have always been dedicated to education. Since my older children graduated from ISR in 2012, I have been a strong advocate for the program. I am thrilled to extend my teaching from the classroom to the water, teaching ISR lessons and water safety in Montgomery County, MD.

From my personal experience, I firmly believe that water survival skills for your child(ren) are not a luxury but a necessity. Our mission at ISR is unwavering: "NOT ONE MORE CHILD DROWNS." As a parent, witnessing your child confidently roll onto their back and float independently is an incredible feeling and one of the most valuable gifts you can give them.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family as we embark on this amazing swimming journey together.

Keep your family safe,

Margie Haygood
